John Swinton

John Swinton is Professor in Practical Theology at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, UK. John has a background in mental health nursing and chaplaincy. He has published 12 books, his award-winning book on dementia: Dementia Living in the memories of God (Ramsey Prize 2012). His latest book is Finding Jesus in the Storm: The spiritual lives of Christians with mental health challenges, which was highlighted by Christianity Today in 2021. In 2017, his book Becoming Friends of Time: Disability, Timefullness and Gentle Discipleship won the Christianity Today 2017 award of merit for theology and ethics. He is a widely acclaimed speaker in North America, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
